Frequently asked questions
Which weight classes does the Czech Combat Robot League have rules for?
The Czech Combat Robot League (CCRL) has published rules for antweight (up to 150 g) and beetleweight (up to 1.5 kg). Raptorweight (up to 6 kg) and featherweight (up to 13.6 kg) are listed as in preparation.
What is the difference between antweight and beetleweight rules?
In the CCRL, antweights may weigh 150 g, must fit a 15 × 15 cm square and may use up to 24 V. Beetleweights may weigh 1.5 kg, have no size limit beyond fitting the arena, may use up to 50 V, and need a power indicator light and a spinner energy of no more than 1 kJ.
Do walking robots get extra weight in combat robot competitions?
Yes. In both CCRL classes, robots that move without wheels, tracks or rollers may weigh 50% more (225 g antweight, 2.25 kg beetleweight), and walking robots with legs of at least two degrees of freedom double the limit (300 g, 3 kg). See movement types.
What weapons are banned in the Czech Combat Robot League?
CCRL rules ban weapons that spray liquid outside the robot, nets, ropes and glue, electronic weapons such as jammers or lasers, magnetic and induction weapons, explosives, free-flying projectiles and devices meant to distract the driver. Thermal weapons are banned unless the organiser approves them for the venue.
